{"id":113,"date":"2013-09-20T06:13:24","date_gmt":"2013-09-20T06:13:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.webcraftstudio.biz\/~Charlie\/devmakello\/blog\/?p=113"},"modified":"2024-04-02T21:18:27","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T21:18:27","slug":"wipomos-mobile-energy-ecosystem-ucsd-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/makello.com\/blog\/wipomos-mobile-energy-ecosystem-ucsd-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Wipomo&#8217;s Mobile Energy Ecosystem &#8211; UCSD debut"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"184\" height=\"133\" src=\"https:\/\/makello.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/commercial-energy-ecosystem.jpg\" alt=\"Mobile Energy Ecosystem by Wipomo and Butler Sun Solutions\" class=\"wp-image-255\"\/><figcaption>The Mobile Energy Ecosystem by Wipomo and Butler Sun Solutions Inc.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Wipomo unveiled the Mobile Energy Ecosystem at UCSD, during the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/california\/santee\/san-diego-sustainability-tour-features-a-santee-energy-showcase-home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"About San Diego Sustainability Tour\">13th annual San Diego Sustainability Tour<\/a>, an event organized by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/san-diego-renewable-energy-society\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"SDRES on LinkdIn\">San Diego Renewable Energy Society<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mobile Energy Ecosystem is second generation off-grid electric vehicle and personal electronics charging station, designed by Wipomo and Butler Sun Solutions, Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[supsystic-slider id=3 position=&#8221;center&#8221;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wipomo&#8217;s design made it possible to power a house or business from an electric vehicle.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, Wipomo demonstrated vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) high voltage power transfer, through the Mobile Energy Ecosystem.&nbsp; Our design shows that electric vehicles and distributed power generation can provide wide ranging possibilities, from EV rescue, to ancillary services for the utility.<br>The first generation system, called the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/eswucsd.weebly.com\/solar-slider.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"Solar Slider\">Solar Slider<\/a>&#8220;, powered up students between classes at UCSD for more than a year, and served as a renewable energy educational tool.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Solar Slider is the result of a SunEdison grant awarded to Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW), to build a \u201cGreen Island\u201d utility vehicle and electronics solar charging station for UCSD campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESW@UCSD students designed and built the solar PV deployment cage and hydraulic lift, attached to a single axle trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlie Johnson, Wipomo, CEO, participated in the ESW Solar Slider project as grant writer for the SunEdison &#8220;Green Island&#8221; national contest, and as a community leader in assisting in organizing a student ASES chapter at UCSD, fulfilling his pledges as an elected board member of the San Diego Renewable Energy Society.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wipomo unveiled the Mobile Energy Ecosystem at UCSD, during the&nbsp;13th annual San Diego Sustainability Tour, an event organized by the&nbsp;San Diego Renewable Energy Society.
